A smart system to examine body changes for fitness

Two types of slimming surgery include sleeve gastrectomy and lipomatic, each of which is described separately.

Sleeve gastrectomy: In this surgery, the surgeon removes a part of the stomach and reduces its volume. Then, by limiting food intake and exercise, weight loss is achieved. Postoperative care is very important in this method so that having a smart system to monitor body changes and fat amounts can be helpful. In this case, each month for two years, 3D scanning of the applicant's body is performed, and by using exact analyses of the software, fat reduction in different parts of the body can be determined. If the comparison of 3D scans shows that the applicant's body fat does not change much and losing weight is as a result of changes in muscles, the doctor understands the applicant is on a low-protein diet and does not exercise much so that a modified diet and exercise program will be given. On the other hand, if slimming down and fat loss have occurred at a faster rate, this process can be prevented by changing the diet of the applicant. Therefore, using a smart system to monitor body changes to achieve the ideal weight loss results can be very helpful.

Lipomatic: In this method, first, the body's fat cells are decomposed by vibrations and then slowly removed from the body. Sometimes the removed fat might be transferred to another area of the body. The applicant can see the post-surgery results in 3D designed by the doctor and decide on the amount of volume reduction. Also, if the applicant wants a fat transfer, he or she can see the results of this process in each area of the body and makes decision realistically. Besides, the doctor can be familiar with the applicant's taste and perform the surgery based on the pre-determined design.

Helping breast reconstruction for cancer patients

In breast reconstruction surgery, after breast discharge in cancer patients, usually, the latissimus dorsi muscle is examined; the surgeon tries to simulate the volume of the patient's healthy breast by moving this muscle with the flap to the front of the body and placing a prosthesis under the muscle.

Based on the research of Smart Beauty team in this regard, it is shown that by performing MRI of the applicant's body, the volume of patient's latissimus dorsi muscle can be determined and then by subtracting this volume from the normal breast volume and taking into account 20% atrophy, the appropriate volume for the prosthesis can be specified.

Besides, in some cases during breast reconstruction surgery, the patient's healthy breast may also undergo lifting or reduction mammoplasty. The point is that the form of the patient's healthy breast can determine the fisheye pattern for removing the flap from the back of the patient; thus, by simulating breast surgery changes in the software, the appropriate fisheye pattern and also the appropriate prosthesis volume and shape can be achieved. The advancement of science in the field of stem cells to produce artificial skin can be a great help in this project.
